We had been going out and dating for several years, but in all that time I hadn't seen this side of him. We had been engaged to be married for a few years, and all my friends were starting to get antsy about when he would make his move.
I had to explain to them that this was just how he was. Truth be told, I was thinking the same. But then he said we were going to take a vacation. I didn't think anything of it until he suggested that maybe while we were there, we get married.
Of course I was worried that everything wouldn't be perfect. I couldn't have been more wrong. The staff made sure that everything was absolutely brilliant. There were freshly cut flowers and a band to play me in as I walked up the aisle in a stunning dress. The sand between my toes made this an extra special occasion.
The fact is that it was so out of left field I didn't know what to think at first. When you poll most women the dream they had as a child would likely not be the sand between their toes and the sun setting. But it really works.
I was totally swooning by the time I was walked down the aisle. Everything had been perfect, and the staff made the rest of the day even better. When we got home and told everyone and showed them the beautiful professionally taken photographs, they agreed. People were jealous about our day.
