Wedding Photography: A Once In A Lifetime Shoot

By Ping Davis

Exactly like the occasion from which the term was coined, wedding photography has no room for second chances. Here, the wedding photographer should find interesting subjects to focus the lens on right at the same instant he or she arrives at the venue. And the last thing a photographer wants to happen is to miss out on a chance to capture a look, movement or instance which just will not occur again.

A photographer specialising in wedding photography must artistically capture details as well as actions which reflect the overall mood of the occasion regardless of whether he or she is inspired during that particular instant. He or she has to keep on moving while finding the components which will contribute to the picture narrative that must be composed right on the spot. In order to do this, a photographer must remain attentive to the details of the venue just as he or she watches the folks and their actions throughout the course of the occasion.

Evidently, a photographer is working under a substantial amount of pressure particularly since he or she is supposed to deliver creatively composed images regardless of the circumstances. In addition, the time to do that isn't that much if not scarce. This is not the case in a typical studio where the photographer has relatively more control.

Moreover, there are also the high expectations from the couple themselves and from those who also invested time and effort to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible. These folks demand simply the best from everyone including the photographer. Well much more so from the photographer who's tasked to capture as much of the memories as he or she can.

At the end of their wedding day, couples look forward to seeing extraordinary images. They like their wedding photos to come out as special as the event itself. In one way or the other, they expect to feel inspired if not moved by the captured pictures of what by then are but memories of the day they want to fondly recall for life.
