Enjoy Your Wedding Day With These Simple Steps

By Esta Millward

Sadly, lots of people get stressed and sad while planning what is going to be a good time in their lives. Fortunately, here are some tips to help you plan for a memorable and joyous wedding day.

Costly wedding floral arrangements can be replaced with ornamental potted plants for an aesthetic and exotic effect. Plants in decorative glazed pots or terracotta tones will look great and save money. When the wedding is over, you can either gift the plants to your guests, or plant them in your own garden.

It can be a friend or a family member, they just need to help you carry your gear wherever you go. A family member or a close friend will be able to gather families together for group photographs. If you are having a wedding outside, you need to have a plan in case it rains. A couple ways to do this include having tents on standby and renting an area with both an indoor and outdoor space. You can also install planks on the ground so that your guests do not get mud on their shoes.

If your mother, bridesmaids, or other special people are going to assist you with your wedding gown, have them be dressed and ready to go well in advance of when you expect to be dressing. This will ensure that you are the only thing they need to worry about at the last minute. If they have themselves to worry about in order to get ready, they will lose the focus and not help you.

If you are short on money but long on time, then try printing all your wedding invitations yourself. If you purchase a kit for making invitations, it will cost you a lot less, plus it will also let you add more of your own flavor to it.

You'll want to be able to dim the lighting at the wedding reception. While this may appear trivial, you want to have this option, perhaps for your first dance, then brighter for the remainder of your ceremony. Ask the venue about this before committing to it.

Instead of using expensive, elaborate flower arrangements, opt for various inexpensive potted plants. You can decorate terracotta stoneware using lacy ribbons and paint or by purchasing already glazed ceramic pots in coordinated colors. The plants can be distributed as gifts for guests, or the bride and groom may choose to take the plants home.

Consider including group activities within your wedding day. You don't want all of the guests simply watching and waiting for the vows to come to a close before leaving. You can include fun activities such as contests and volleyball which will get everyone to actively participate. If you set up activities for guests to participate in, your wedding reception will be more fun for everybody. Your guests may even make new friends by playing games together, and everyone will be talking about your wedding for weeks to come. A fun way to add a personal touch to your wedding is to ask a friend or family member to officiate the ceremony. This will not only save you money by not having to pay for an officiant, but will also make your wedding very special. First, make sure your area allows this to happen.

Once you know who all is going to give a speech at your wedding, hold a rehearsal for everyone so you can censor out inappropriate material. There will be many different generations at the wedding, so sometimes a joke between young people is not received well by elders.

You will probably want to take pictures with a lot of your guests. If your wedding is particularly large, finding all the folks you want shots with can prove to be a real hassle if you don't schedule dedicated times. Inform your guests in advance of where and when to be for pictures with you, and make sure the photographer is free for a few hours to do this. Ask a friend to borrow something from them to wear at your wedding ceremony. A nice bracelet or necklace will both complete your look, as well as give you "something borrowed" for the day.

Instead of traditional floral bouquets, brides can adorn their bouquet with diamonds, rhinestones or other gems. You can do this by attaching small crystals, costume jewelry, or perhaps a special piece of jewelry with some kind of adhesive. To make sure it coordinates with everything else you are wearing, be consistent with the colors, size and cut of the stones. Ensure that all guests understand the scheduling of events by emailing everyone involved an itinerary of events; include maps for those who may be unfamiliar with the area. Let people be aware of the events, such as rehearsals and the things that they must come to, so that they could be there at the appropriate time.

One idea is to offer a fusion menu, comprised of contemporary versions of popular menu items. You can add personal touches and twists like culture specific desserts and beverages, or even edible wedding favors.

Vacation goody baskets make great delivery presents to guests at your destination wedding. The basket should contain useful items such as a map, sunglasses, disposable cameras and a hat. You could also include flyers and coupons for local restaurants. Once you've scheduled your wedding and chosen the specific theme, the first likely crossroads of the two will probably be your invitations. You can give your guests ideas of what colors to wear to the wedding or other themes. Be sure to consider all of your options before selecting wedding invitations. Use this advice to be assured that your wedding is well planned and relaxing. This will make for a time to remember. You should plan ahead of time since your wedding will be the start of your life with someone else.
